Rift Valley University conducted its 15th Annual National Research Conference on July 4, 2024, at its Head office in the presence of RVU, researchers, and guests from the Ministry of Education and Ethiopian Training Agency.
Rift Valley University President, Professor Derebsa Dufera made a welcome and opening speech. Professor touched upon educational Reform in Ethiopian Higher Education for Sustainable Development and the role RVU has been playing since the reform was launched. After wrapping his speech, he declared the conference’s official opening and invited Dr. Eyob Ayalew, Director for Private Higher Education at the Ministry of Education.
Dr Ayalew made a Keynote speech representing the Ministry of Education. In his keynote speech, Dr. Eyob emphasized the relevance of government policy in attaining quality education and urged participants to work hard towards that goal.
Four scholarly papers were presented in the morning plenary session and eight papers were presented in the afternoon in two parallel panel sessions. In sum, 12 academic papers that correspond with the research theme were presented and enriched through the active participation of the audience.
Professor Derebsa Dufera made the closing remark and handed over certificates of recognition for scholars who presented their papers, and a special Certificate of recognition was given to RVU staff who published more than 19 articles in well-reputed International Journals.
