Rift Valley University Gadaa Campus has conducted its 4th in-house research conference on June 19, 2024 at Abbaa Duulaa Hall, under the Theme: “The Role of Private Higher Education for Sustainable Development”.Following the Program Introduction, Mr. Bekele Chala Gadaa Campus Dean made welcoming Speech and the rationale for organizing such a research undertaking. Mr. Bekele appreciated the Presenters and participants for making the Conference success history and efforts made by the leadership to materialize in -house Conference with the existing meager resources. After wrapping up his speech, he invited Professor Derebssa Dufera, RVU Vice President for Research, Community Service, and Technology Transfer to make Keynote Speech.Professor Derebssa Dufera in his Keynote speech touched upon the role of Higher Education in balancing societal needs, development and environmental issues in the process of fighting poverty and addressing societal needs. He also mentioned the contributions of Rift Valley University in areas of technology transfer and Community Service, capacity building in the last two decades and more, and the efforts made to reach out and deepen the research culture that benefits the surrounding community, and finally declared the official opening of the Research Conference.Four interdisciplinary papers that covered cross-cutting issues were presented by RVU scholars, and discussion were made. Participants raised questions and commented on and enriched the presented papers to the required levels. Graduating students and staff members got an opportunity to attend and benefit from the Conference.The closing remark was made by Dr. Delasa Daba Gadaa Campus Research, Community Service, and Technology Transfer Officer. The Certificate of recognition to the presenters and those who directly contributed to the success of the research work was handed over by Professor Derebssa Dufera.RVU-Hub of Excellence!
